Washington Avenue was already the home of some great places to eat and drink and Terlingua is an outstanding addition to that collection. Billing itself as a “boutique barbecue” restaurant they serve up house smoked meats paired with Mexican cuisine daily. The barbecue board can sell out quickly so be sure to get there early!
Show up early and you’ll be able to enjoy their happy hour as well! Happy hour runs from 5-7pm and features $5 margaritas. There is often a beer special that changes daily. It’s a small place but they can accommodate medium size parties with no problems. It’s a cozy place with great service. They even set out picnic tables when it’s warm!
Though the margaritas lured us in, we ended up opting for beers and then stayed for some snacks and to celebrate with friends so some of the details are a little hazy. This might be because after the beers we opted for some house made daiquiris, they were both tasty and strong! The food was also delicious. The black bean and corn salad (5/9) was fresh and light. We highly recommend it and wish we had a pic for you!. We can’t wait to get back for some barbecue and drinks outside!
